Our mission is to implement an open, responsive, and proactive government for Upper Providence that will enable the Township to take advantage of opportunities for growth and change while maintaining our lifestyles in a fiscally responsive manner.
Our core values
- Accountability:We promote an open government where the public gets to see how decisions are made. We do not believe key decisions should be reached behind closed doors. Experience has shown that strong governments include and seek input from a diverse spectrum of residents. It is only through this method that we can ensure the strongest outcome.
- Fiscal responsibility:To achieve a sound economic future, we need long-term planning to sustain desired services and generate the means to pay for them in the future. We can do this only by eliminating waste and engaging in smart spending — spending the Township’s money as if it were our own.
- Proactive leadership: Effective leaders have a sense of urgency with a focus on the future. We must proactively confront issues such as traffic congestion, deteriorating infrastructure, and the lack of green technology.
